CAT 2018 admit cards to release tomorrow at iimcat.ac.in


CAT 2018: This year, Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta will conduct the examinations on Sunday, November 25 in 147 cities across the country in two sessions.


The admit cards for the Common Admission Test (CAT) will be released tomorrow at iimcat.ac.in. This year, Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta will conduct the examinations on Sunday, November 25 in 147 cities across the country in two sessions. The exam authority has already released the tutorial to understand the format of the test which is available on the CAT website.

CAT 2018: Exam pattern


The examination will be of 180 minutes and candidates will be allotted 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they will be restricted to switch from one section to another. 
The questions will be in three sections —

1) Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
2) Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

3) Quantitative Ability

Those who clear the exam will be eligible for admission to management courses, including PGP, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM, PGPEX, at the IIMs and other management colleges across the country. The results for the CAT are usually released in the second week of January. 
CAT 2018 score is valid only till December 31, 2019 and will accordingly be accessible on the website.

Once the result is out, each IIM shortlists successful candidates for the second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). IIMs may additionally use other factors like previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender and academic diversity and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process. The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.
